I own up. My name’s Steph, I forget to respond to people.
Although looking at the list below it’s no wonder why. Here are the more popular ways clients can find and contact me:
Email x 3 accounts, Phone, Voicemail, Text, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Google+, Pinterest, Whats App, Skype, Todoist
Attempts to regain quality of life and run a more efficient business start now.
Three points of contact should not only be sufficient, but efficient.
Certainly my preferred source of contact. Although I often find my work flow interrupted by emails pinging every few minutes. I love my brothers “I read emails once per day”, although on a business level I don’t think that’ll work for me. I’ll start with four times a day to see how I get on.
Nice and quick, so long as it really is quick. I’m not great at multitasking, so most of my notes don’t make sense by the time I’ve finished a call that lasts longer than 10 minutes.
Perfect for pinging a quick IM to check a detail or two. For anything more, email.
In my humble opinion, technology can snatch quality of life so easily from right under our noses, often without us realising until it’s too late and we’re utterly burned out.
I’ve not found the perfect balance yet, but it’s certainly a start. As for the rest,
feel free to check out how I streamlined that list.
Old Mail - All mail forwards to the correct accounts without the sender having to lift a finger.
Skype Apps - I used to have Skype on every device until I realised messages were being overlooked. Now it’s only installed on my mac and I only log on when I have a call scheduled.
Voicemail - Deactivated. 99.9% of my messages consist of “Hi Steph, can you give me a call when you get this”. Don’t worry, I know, I can see your missed call in my logs.
WhatsApp & Pinterest - It’s goodbye, accounts closed. They’re good, but not right for me or Real Owl.
Linkedin & Google+ - Private message deactivated, direct emails only (which get placed into Todoist by IFTTT).
